Thomas Antram was a Cord Winder, and a Rope maker. a Ropemaker was always in demand, a lot of the ships that came in Salem had to buy a lot of new rope . In June of 1678 John and James Antram were sent to England to bring Friends to America to help buy land in New Jersey.

He came from New Sarum, England to Boston 3 June 1635 on the "James". He was a member of the First Church of Salem.
