Thomas was born in 1689. He is the son of Thomas Betts and Mercy Whitehead.

Thomas, the second son of Thomas and Mercy was born at Newton, Long Island, August 14, 1689, and died at Newtown, Bucks County, Pennsylvania, April 1747.

He married May 5, 1713 Susannah Stevenson, Daughter of Thomas, by whom he had six children:

  1. Ann, December 14, 1714
  2. Thomas, born November 1, 1716 and died young,
  3. John, born September 15 1718,
  4. Stephen, born March 26, 1720,
  5. Thomas, born February 18, 1723, and
  6. Susannah, born February 18, 1723.

After the death of his wife he removed to Chesterfield, Burlington County, New Jersey, where he married Susannah Field, and soon afer removed to Bucks County, Pennsylvania.

The children of his second marriage were

  1. Patience,
  2. Richard,
  3. Mercy,
  4. Zachariah,
  5. Miriam, and
  6. William.

Thomas died in 1747, his will being probated in Newtown, Bucks County, PA. His will mentioned his children and the mother's of his children.[1]
