According to notes from NBT copied from Mary Lucinda Bundrant's handwritten notes kept in the family bible:

"My great, great grandfather----Thomas Bundrant, was banished from England for killing a dog.

My great, great grandmother---Sarah Maka (Makey?) was banished from France for pulling a plum.

These two met and married in Henry County, Virginia. They had several children."
