Biography
Thomas Burgess was the second son of John Burgess and Mary Worden of Yarmouth, Massachusetts.[1]
"Thomas Burge of Yarmouth and Sarah Stoors of Barnstabell were joined in marriage upon the 26th day of February 1695/6 attest by John Thacher Justice of Peace...." at Yarmouth, Barnstable, Massachusetts.[2][3] Thomas and Sarah had at least nine children:[4]

The Burgess Genealogy shows no death date for Thomas[5] but under the entry for his brother Jacob, it says that Jacob was exec for his brother Thomas in 1721 (p.16-17).
The death date of this Thomas Burgess is in question. There were many men by that name.
Torrey shows the date of death for Thomas as "1720?" and that he was of Yarmouth and Windham County, Connecticut.[6]
A Thomas Burgess, son of Thomas and Hannah, died on 24 Feb 1737/38 at Guilford, Connecticut.[7] The fact that his parents are mentioned appears to indicate that he was young and still living with them.Watt-266 16:19, 24 June 2015 (EDT)
Another Thomas, Thomas Burgess, Sr., died at Guilford on 23 Oct 1736.[8] There is no indication of his age.
A Lt. Thomas Burgess died on 1 Jul 1743 in Little Compton, Rhode Island, at the age of seventy-five. This would put his birth date at about 1668.[9] This Thomas Burgess was born in Little Compton in 1668,[10] the son of Thomas Burgess and Lydia Gaunt. His wife was Esther.[11]
