Sir Patrick Cheyne of Essilmont granted the choir of King's College an annual rent of 11 merks from his land at Gray Fortrie. His son and heir Thomas also signed the document. A. Y. Cheyne, The Cheyne Family, stated that Thomas Chene of Straloch (2216) acted as procurator for Robert Chene of Tullidask (4114), in 1560 [Aberd. Sheriff Court Vol. II. Diet. 18. 6.1560.]. The parentage of Robert Cheyne of Tullidask (Tilliedesk perhaps?) is not known.2
