Transcript of the Lay Subsidy Roll of 1524/5 for Sussex, showing Richard Fenner assessed as having an income of £4 from land in Crawley - the amount quoted in the will of John Fenner 1513. Thomas Culpeper, who lived at Rowley house, Lowfield Heath, is paying far and away the most.
