About Thomas Eagle

Death: Oct., 1816 Greene County Indiana, USA
Born c.1770/1780. Came to the Daviess/Greene Co., IN area ca.1813, apparently earning his living in part through trading with the Indians, one of whom killed him after he aaccidently, threw him in a fire while attempting to show off his strength. [Apparently Eagle boasted he could throw the Indian over the fire unharmed and instead landed him in the flames.] The Indian was tried but not punished for the murder. Eagle is buried in either Daviess or Greene Co., IN. [The spot where he was supposedly killed was pointed out to me years ago on a drive through Daviess and Greene Co., but I'm not sure where this was anymore.]
