Evidence needed to support Thomas Eames as son of Thomas Eames, or of Joan Pierce, or of John Eames.

1. Thomas Eames(1) (#5728) was born in Fordington, Dorsetshire, England. Thomas was buried June 25, 1618 in Fordington, Dorsetshire, England.(2)

He married Millicent (Eames) in probably, St.George, Dorsetshire, England. (Millicent (Eames) is #5729.) Millicent was born circa 1552 in Dorset, England. Millicent died May 1614 in Fordingham, Dorset, England, at 61 years of age.

Thomas is the only man of the Eames family mentioned in those early records of Fordington that have been examined. The Bishops Transcript of the Parish Records tantalizes the researcher with the note that in 1588 "Jone Emes widow an old woman was buried ye 17th day of June." It's possible that other branches of the Eames family were in the town of Dorchester, which is nearly surrounded by the parish of Fordington, or that some Eames marriages took place there, but the early registers of Dorchester have not been preserved. The occupation of Thomas hasn't been discovered, nor his location within the large area of the parish. Christening records in the Bishops Transcript all identify sons and daughters of Thomas Eames; no mention of a wife named Millicent was observed.

Thomas Eames and Millicent (Eames) had the following five known children:

• i. Alice1 Eames (#4206) was born in Fordington, Dorsetshire, England circa 1578 (chr. date). She was christened 1578 in Fordington, Dorsetshire, England.(3)
• ii. John Eames (#4207) was born in Fordington, Dorsetshire, England before January 12, 1586/7 (chr. date). He was christened January 12, 1586/7 in Fordington, Dorsetshire, England.(4). Married Lucy Lewse.
• iii. Richard Eames (c1588-c1634) (3) He was born c1588 once again when the parish registers are missing so we do not have a baptism date. He married however on 5th June 1615 in St Georges Church Fordington to an Alice Sprague (c1597-1668). a) Edward Eames (1618 -1685) their only child was baptised at Fordington on 25 December 1618. He married there on 31st January 1638/9 to Elizabeth Tapp (1605-1675) the daughter of Robert Tapp
• iv. Anthony Eames was born circa 1595. Married Millicent. Emigrated to America.
• v. Anne Eames (#4208) was born in Fordington, Dorsetshire, England. She married Thomas Rose June 14, 1619 in Fordington, Dorsetshire, England.(5) (Thomas Rose is #4209.) Thomas was born circa 1595 in Dorset, England.

Disputed children

• Mark Eames (#2560) was born in Fordington, Dorsetshire, England. Mark died in probably, Dorsetshire, England is not listed at https://freepages.rootsweb.com/~fordingtondorset/genealogy/Files/Fo... but is at https://mathcs.clarku.edu/~djoyce/gen/report/rr01/rr01_463.html#P16726. • A William Eames is seen in trees. There’s no evidence he was a son of this Thomas Eames and this Millicent.

The other was Thomas Eames who had followed into the tenancy of his father John said to be deceased.
