Thomas Gentles

Thomas married his first cousin Helen Munro. He became registrar of BDM for the district of Falkirk. There were trial papers relating to Thomas Gentles, William Reid for the crime of breach of trust and embezzlement and violation or neglect of duty. Tried at High court Stirling, Thomas Gentles verdict - Guilty. Verdict comments - Guilty-recommended for leniency. Sentence: imprisonment for 18 months. Remission of sentence granted under the Great Seal at High Court Edinburgh 21st December 1857.
