About Thomas Gilderdale (Gilderdon)

Born Gilderdon, but family seem to have used Gilderdon and Gilderdale interchangeably. Not 100% sure if he is the Thomas that married Anne Hoyle or not. There were a couple of others (Hook and Thorne) who could fit also. A Thomas Gilderdale appears in the Wakefield section of the Universal British Directory of Trade in the 1790's as a Blacksmith. Not sure if this Thomas is the one - but he is the only Thomas Gilderdale to have been born in Wakefield - so seems the most likely. A Thomas Gilderdale, was recorded as being an early Methodist in Goole. The Hull Daily Mail recorded (October 23, 1829 p.9) that he lived in a 'quaint old farm' and had services in it between 1815-18). Not sure if it was this Thomas or not.
