Comments

  • I’m not sure the Thomas Green who came to Virginia with wife and 2 daughters was on the one who was on the Speedwell in 1635. There was a man called Thomas Green on the ship, age 24 so born 1611, but no indication of a family on board.
  • This Speedwell was of London. There are mixups with the Speedwell from the Netherlands, originally slated to accompany the Mayflower to America in 1620. As a result this Thomas Green, or his wife, is sometimes seen as of the Netherlands.
  • His wife is seen sometimes as Martha Malone without citation.
  • Death seen at FamilySearch as “1670 at Petersburg, Dinwiddie, Virginia, USA.” But Dinwiddie County was not formed until 1752. Petersburg, however, was settled beginning 1635. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Petersburg,_Virginia#See_also
  • ” At this time, I do not know which Thomas this transaction belongs to: (JPS)” On 22 Aug 1668. Wm. Shorte , he moving, sells to Thos. Greene 100 acres of land on the S.E. side of Western Branch of Upper Chippoakes Creek, Patent 7 Jan 1649 to Wm. Shorete . Rec: 4 May 1668.[iii]
