≤p>Thomas (Tom) Mcgrath was born in 1854. He and his family were evicted from there home in Ballymamague and after that someone allowed them to build a small house in a rocky corner of a field in Inchindrisla. His parents died two to three years after that along with his baby sister. So Tom and his brother John became orphans. Their auntie Mrs. Harney (who was a widow and Harney was name of her second husband) then raised them on her farm at Harney's cross with some help from a farm labourer she had working for her. After that they took the name of Harney. They would have also helped at their uncle Mr. Doocy's farm in Ballincoush.≤/p>
