About Thomas Harris of Cubb Creek

Thomas Harris, son of Robert Harris, is reported to have married Mary Giles. He settled on Cubb Creek in Hanover County, Virginia.

Thomas bought some land from his brother William on Bull Swamp.

Thomas was killed by Indians in 1725.

Thomas had 7 children.

  1. William Harris (b. 1696 - d. 1778)
  2. Thomas Jr. (b. 1698 - d. 1784)
  3. David (b. 1700)
  4. George (b. 1703)
  5. John (b. 1705)
  6. Stephen (b. 1708)
  7. Claiborn (b. 1725 - d. 1810)
  • Some researchers list Richard Harris as the father of Claiborn Harris, but more documentation is needed to to verify this. As of now the dates don't match up. What we do know is that genetically Claiborn Harris is a descendant of Robert Harris, most likely a grandson. The son of Robert that connects him to Claiborn is important for sure, but not paramount to me at this point. The DNA is there. When the facts become clear, a final determination will be made.
