Thomas Henry Eyre Lloyd, Captain

Henry Eyre Lloyd was the eldest son of Major General Thomas Francis Lloyd, of Beechmount, Rathkeale, Limerick, Ireland. Henry was educated at Eton and he entered the Coldstream Guards on October 1890. He was promoted to Captainin April 1899. Captain Lloyd had been serving since the beginning of the war, having accompanied his battalion to South Africa in October 1899. He was present at the actions of Graspan, Modder River, Magersfontein, and the advance on Pretoria.
