Thomas Hurlburt (1754-1814) served, 1775, at the siege of Boston, Crown Point, and Ticonderoga. In 1776-77 he was in Capt. Ozias Bissell's company, Col. George Pitkin's 4th regiment. He was born in East Hartford; died in Torrington, Conn. - The National Society of the Daughters of the American Revolution Volume 78, page 34

The Revolutionary War Penson Files show Thomas as spelling his name Hurlburt. (pension files) Thomas moved to New Hartford, Ct and afterward to Torrington, Ct. His wifes name appears on the list of members of the Congregational Church of Torrington, 9 May 1802. - @R567@: TITL Abstracts of Revolutionary War Pension Files p 1757

Jehiel B Hurlburt, farmer, teacher, California Argonaut, citizen, soldier and civil officer, was born in the town of Winchester, Litchfield county, Connecticut, June 1, 1828, in the sixth generation [from] English ancestry and is a son of Erastus G and Clairssa (Goodwin) Hurlburt, both natives of Hartford county, Connecticut, the father born in 1787. He traces his ancestry back to Thomas H Hurlburt, the immigrant who came from England in 1637: through Stephen (2) Thomas (3) Elijah (4) and Erastus G, the father of our subject. The immigrant ancestor was the father of five sons.
