Thomas Ivey was the son of Sir Thomas Ivey, he was a sea captain with voyages between Scotland, Ireland and Virginia between 1620 and 1625, and was the first of the Ivey family to immigrant to America about 1635 on the ship "Rebecca" from England.and was the Church Warden in Elizabeth River Parish, Lower Norfolk County in 1641 and held that position until 1648. Thomas was also the Sheriff of Norfolk County, Virginia. - Danny Chris Ivy
