About Thomas J. Jacobs
Tom Jacobs (born Thomas Yakhoob) is the brother of actor Danny Thomas who was the star of the television series Make Room for Daddy.
Little is known about Tom Jacobs, other than he is a brother to Danny Thomas. "The Andy Griffith Show," of course, was a spinoff on "Make Room for Daddy" starring Danny Thomas. Thomas was also an associate of Sheldon Leonard, so there were multiple connections. Tom, like Danny, was born to Lebanese immigrant parents. Danny also used the name of Amos Jacobs for a short time in show business. Their family name at birth was Yahkoob. Tom is always in the background. Sometimes he has on a white hat as shown in this picture. He does speak a few words in a few episodes, so watch and listen closely. This picture is from "The Bank Job", when Barney encountered him on the street and says "What's a matter? Haven't you even seen a man in a dress before" As Barney walks off, Tom's character has this look of disbelief on his face.
