James, I and John 1676 James, II, When John William James was born in 1623 in Caernarvonshire, Wales, his father, Michael, was 23 and his mother, Katherine, was 23. He married Elizabeth Norman James in 1673. They had three children in 31 years. He died in 1690 in Stafford, Virginia, at the age of 67.
