notes

Thomas Jesper Senior's will of 1760 helps to establish a number ofrelationships in the Jesper line.

In his will he states:

"...I Give to my son Thomas Jesper fifty two and a half acres of landwhere he now lives and fifty Acres more of less now in Possession ofmy - Brother John Jesper Land that my Grandfather Richard Jesperbought of Richard Dudley..."

From this statement we learn that:

  • 2. Thomas Jesper Senior is the grandson of Richard Jesper. The Richard Jesper who bought land of Richard Dudley.
  • 3. Thomas Jesper's father would have to be one of Richard Jesper's sons.

In the will Thomas Jesper Senior leaves to his son, Thomas Jesper, fifty two and a half acres of land where said son resides, and about fifty acres in posession of his brother John Jesper, land that "my Grandfather Richard Jesper bought of Richard Dudley"

  • - To his son, Daniel Jesper, he leaves fifty acres adjoining the land given to Thomas Jesper, and also the land on which he (Thomas Jesper Senior) now lives.
  • - Slaves to be equally divided between his four children. Costs of a lawsuit over his slave "Duke" is to be shared between all four children.
  • - Son Daniel to be guardian of d. Betty if she chooses
