Everything below this point is theoretical, not known to be fact:

My theory is that Thomas married Clara first, in 1881, marriage information above.
They had son Charles Lewis, listed in the 1900 census as Thomas' son born in 1883.
Clara died Nov. 21, 1885 at the age of 25.
Two months later, Anna's husband died in February 1886 at the age of 29.
The widowed Thomas marries the widowed Anna.
When they married, Anna already had two daughters from her first husband. These are in the 1900 census: step-daughters Marian, born 1882, and Eva, born 1881.
The census lists the relationship of household members to the head of the household. Thus, to Thomas, Charles is a son and the girls are step-daughters.

Note that he died quite young, and that she has another last name on her marker in addition to Rawlings: Lewis
My theory is that Anna was first married to William Rawlings and then married Thomas Jasper Lewis.

Notice that geni has two wives listed for Thomas J. Lewis.
One is:
Anna B. Lewis, maiden name unknown. The other wife is:
Clara Lewis, maiden name given as Rawlings.
The odds are remote that she would have the maiden name of Rawlings AND another wife of Thomas (Anna) would have the previous married name of Rawlings. With Clara buried in the same cemetery as Thomas, the case for her is stronger.
