About Thomas S. Logsdon, I
In 1707 William Logsdon purchased 100 acres on the north side of the Patapsco River and on the north side of the Middle Branch of the Patapsco River, about 8 miles southeast of Westminster in what is now Carroll County, Maryland. He raised tobacco and he died sometime between 1730 and 1742.
Thomas Sr. bought land from John Wooley in 1737, and also purchased "Molly’s Industry" on the south side of the Great Falls of Gunpowder River in 1743, keeping it for only 4 years. Sometime before 1750, he married Mary. In 1750 he also sold "Wooley’s Range." In 1752 he bought 130 acres, "Goodfellow" in Frederick County. In 1765 he sold 22 acres of the "Goodfellow" tract and in 1771 he sold another 10 acres. By 1784 we find Thomas in what is now Garrett County in an area called Ryan’s Glade. Thomas and Mary had at least 4 children, one of which was Thomas Jr., born in about 1738.
