About Thomas Niemczyk
He was born in German Poland in 1828. He married Suzanna
" Kate, Katherine " Wasiniewska around 1854. They emmigrated to the USA in 1872 with the family. They were farmers. They lived in Portage Co. Wisconsin, in Steven's Point, and he was one of the first members of St. Bartholomew Church in Mill Creek. He's mentioned as one of the 22 charter members of the church when the cornerstone was placed at the dedication.
He moved to the town of Linwood in Portage, which is where he died. He died in his sleep a few months after his wife at almost 87 years of age. He was one of the oldest citizens of the community. His obituary states that he was in excellent health, except for his failing eyesight and hearing.

Died Aged 88 Years Thomas Niemczyk died at his home in the town of Linwood Friday. He lacked but thirteen days of being 87 years of age. Mr. Niemczyk was born in German Poland. His wife died a few months ago at the age of nearly eighty years. |
