ATTEMPTED MURDER. The Colesberg Herald gives the following particulars of an attempted murder in that district recently:- "It seems that a Bushman enticed a Gonah and his wife to some secluded kopje on the farm of Mr. Thomas Plewman. His ostensible object was to show them some wool which he had hidden there. The man and his wife after some time sat down, and the Bushman fixed himself behind them. Shortly after this the Bushman, who had a gun, fired upon the man, the bullet passing through his cheek, carrying off part of the jaw and three teeth on that side, and then passing out through the other cheek. The Gonah managed to find his way to the farm that evening, but his wife did not appear till the morning when she informed the people that the Bushman had shot her husband as we have stated. The Gonah was brought into town, & is still in a dangerous condition. The perpetrator has not yet been secured."
