GEDCOM Note

Tom's father was from Wales, according to both the 1920 and 1870 census records. Although Tom indicated he and both his parents were born in Wales on the 1920 census, his parents listed both he and his mother Mary as born in PA on the 1870 census. In 1870 they were living in Hazleton. The documentation in 1922 shows 1863 as Tom's immigration date and 1882 as naturalization date. If Tom was, indeed, naturalized, Wales must be correct and I have recorded his birthplace as Wales. It is most likely Tom and his mother (and older brother) were Welsh and they moved to PA before the birth of the youngest child. There is no immigration data on the 1870 census so without additional documentation there is no way to know which birthplace is correct.
