About Thomas Richardson
"Richardson of Wilkes County
Thomas Richardson was among those who came to Georgia from South Carolina to take up the "ceded lands" (from Indians) in Wilkes County. He brought with him a wife, and a son and daughter between the ages of 19 and 8 year, and was granted 100 acres on Fishing Creek where Nimrod Gilcrist resided (now in Lincoln County), dated 29 September 1773,. He died in 1777, his Last Will and Testament headed "Thomas Richardson of the ceded lands of Georgis", naming his wife, Barbary to whom he bequeathed the farm and the following slaves - Hannah, Jack, and Harry.
I. William Richardson, born 1754, died 1806, the date of his LWT in Wilkes County.
Apparently John resided in Wilkes County, because a deed from Nathaniel Perre of Richmond County to John Richardson of Wilkes County, for 600 acres of land on Spring Branch, running into Newford Creek. Issue: 500

The LWT of Thomas Richardson, dated 8/1/1777 and proven in Wilkes County 9/15/1777 on oaths of Jacob McClendon and Unknown Collins. IN his will he refers to himself as Thomas Richardson "of the Ceded Lands of Georgia."

Thomas Richardson last will and testament. The name of God amen. I
Thomas Richardson of the Ceded Lands of Georgia ---being very sick and
weak in or in perfect mind and memory thank now unto God Calling unto
mind the Mortality of my Body & knowing appointed for all men once to
die do make and ordain this my last will and testament that is to say.
Principally & first of all I give and recommend my soul in the Hands of
Almighty God that gave it & my body I recommend to Earth to be given
decent Christian Burial at the discretion of my Executor nothing Doubting
general Resurrection I shall receive the same again by the mighty powers
of Touching such worldly estate wherewith it hath pleased God to blefs
me in I give and bequeath unto Barbary my dearly beloved Wife one
negroe Wilred Garrmah one Negroe boy named Jack one Negroe Child
named Marry next of my moveable Estate Stock or Stocks Lands &
Tenements by her for ---? and Enjoyed and I do hereby utterly disallow
revoke & disamut all Testament Wills Legacies bequests and Executors
by me in anywise aforemanded and bequeathed ratifying and confirming
this & no other to be my last will and testament and I do hereby constiture
and appoint Barbary my dearly beloved wife Jacob MCLENDON SEN.
planter of the S. Ceded Lands to be sole Executor of this Will and
Testament in Witness whereof. I have hereunto set my hand and ----? first
day of August in the year of owr Lord ont thousand seven hundred
seventy five. Signed Sealed Published and pronounced and delivered by
Thm. RICHARDSON as his last will and testament in the prefence of us
who in his the presence of Each other have hereunto Subscribed our
names.
