Thomas W. Scott, a white man, and Miss Adeline J. Johnson, a mulatto girl, reputed to be the daughter of the Hon. Richard Mentor Johnson, Rep. in Congress, married November 8, 1832 in Scott County.A few days after this marriage, Thomas W. Scott was presented by his wife's father a fine tract of land known as the "Blue Spring Farm."Daniel Pence marriage Imogene, Col. Johnson's eldest daughter, in 1829 or 1830.
