About Thomas Smyth

From Smyth Family History by David Smyth http://www.zipworld.com.au/~lnbdds/home/davidsmyth/

Thomas, the second son of Ralph Smyth and Elizabeth Hawksworth, was born in 1643 in Lisnegarvey and died in Drumcree, Westmeath, 30 October 1712... Drumcree is a village in the middle of Ireland. He would have been 69 years old at the time of his death. In 1684... when he was 41, he married Elizabeth Hatfield, the 28-year-old daughter of Ridgeley Hatfield. Elizabeth was born in 1656 in Killinure, Westmeath. Killinure is very close to the village of Glasson and to Portlick Castle on Lough Ree, the property of her husband’s kinsman Robert Smyth. Elizabeth probably died fairly young because Thomas later married Mary Welsh, with whom he had no children.
