Thomas Spowart

In the 1911 census James and Janet Spowart have been married for 28 years and have had 3 children who are still living. This appears to be incorrect as they have a grandson there which would make it at least 4 children. The Children still at home are Thomas a horse shoer, Ann a shop assistant and Euphemia a shop assistant.

His work record on the Fife docks says he was an Army pensioner from WW1. This may be his record. He was working on the Fife docks from 1916 -1917.

In memory of Janet HENDERSON beloved wife of James SPOWART who died 12th December 1923 aged 66 years; also their dear son Thomas who died 15th April 1920 aged 34 years, interred at Hastings; also their second daughter Annie who died 13th October 1933 aged 52 years; also the above James SPOWART who died 23rd April 1944 aged 86 years.

Although he died in hastings his home address was given as his father's address in Edinburgh.
