About Thomas Welles
The son of my ancestor, GOV. THOMAS & ALICE (TOMES) WELLES, he was brought to New England by his parents.
On June 23, 1654, he married Hannah (Tuttle) Pantry, widow of John Pantry.
He was confirmed Quarter Master of the Colony of Conn. troops in March of 1657/8, Patentee of the Royal Charter in 1662, deputy for Hartford to the Conn. General court May, 1662, and Assistant to the Colony of Conn. on May 1668.
He lived in Wethersfield in the early 1640's but must have removed to Hartford by 1657. He died in June of 1668 by a fall from one of his cherry trees. The children of Thomas & Hannah Welles:
