About Thomas ap Rice, of Llether

The 13 children of Perrot ap Rice include:

Thomas ap Rice of Llether (Lleithyr?) was still in Wales in 1655. "3. Thomas of Llether, sued in the Great Sessions of 1655 by Roger Williams, mercer, for a debt of 56 shillings." https://journals.library.wales/view/1041698/1041759/31#?xywh=-2633%...

This means he cannot be the Thomas Price who arrived in Virginia in 1652, passage paid by Rice Hughes.

Thomas ap Rice, of Llether This is the linkage which shows Thomas Price of Liether as cousin to the Price Pughe of Virginia like I said before..You are illogical to think that Price of Liether could not be in virginia 1652 and back in Wales by 1656. Those dates are not mutally exclusive...and I have now proved you wrong...only you don't get it. DCR The following is totally unsupported by anything but an "old family story":

The old family story is now supported by 101 markers on Robert Phillips descendants x 5 times to me. The old family story is true and you and others hers JS. in particuar don't want it to be true because you won't follow the truth. DCR

Thomas ap Rice of Liether Is my 5th Maternal cousin x 8 removed &took leave of his home in 1652 and sailed on board the Swan to Virginia after receiving his 50lb. inheritance early from his mother. See Pembrookshire Journals online. He was met in Virginia by Rice Hughes of Virginia living on the James River? March 1652 and worked with Rice Hughes on the Trading post on the james River above the first rapids. You will note as the log entry on the Captains notes they did not know the location of Rice Hughes and was listed as ? so the captain was not sure.

Thomas Price of Liether worked for his father and must have returned to Wales on Business as Pembrookshire journals records he was sued for 56 shilling in 1656. That notation does not preclude his gaining his 50 lb. inheritence froom his mother and joining his father. It means he was able to travel abord the ship salvadged by John Perrot August 29, 1629 and was used thereafter as the Sparrow for TRADE. Thomas Price married into the Atkins family of Virginia and his daughter married into the Pughe Native American family of Powhattan alleged princess Neketi who's Cousin, Pocohauntus and John Rolfe had purchased land near the Trading post at Otter Lake above the rapids on the James River. Atkins name triangulates to my 6th great grandfather : John Rice of Dedham 1624 and to myself 12/12 zero distnace. Further the son of John Rice Hughes aka Trader Hughes is one Robert Hughes who is a match on Y chromosome 23/25 markers same as my 1/2 brother. I am Dale C. Rice and as my father told me in 1978 Perrot ap Rice left his debts behind in Wales and started over in America. His sons Robert and Jessie Hughes are DNA matched at 37/37 on Y chromosome as is the Son Atkins son of Thomas Price matched at 12/12 zero distance. This means that Perrot ap Rice 1598 son of Margaret Mercer of Tenby did not die in 1640 but moved onto America, and Virginia in Particular where his son with Pricilla Joined him March 12, 1652 and received 50 Acres on the York River according the Virginia Historical Society. Wrong again Ms. Maven: You said he could not be in Virginia and Wales being sued. But if he was doing business trade then he could have returned to Wales for the Trading POST. Your conclusion is unsupported and my story is back up DNA of Atkins Pughe family and the fact that John Rice of Ancient Planter status was on the James River on 100 acres and received Perrot ap Rice, his father John Perratt II and young native woman, possibly the cousin of Pocohauntaus as our 5th cousin John Rolf bought land on the James River next to this trading post began in 1620 and advanced in 1638-39 By Perrot and his son in 1652. DC Rice 1948 7th great grand son of Perrot ap Rice 1598
