Perhaps Thomasine Mitchell was born in Stockland, Dorset, England to Thomas Mitchell. She married George Hull as his 1st wife in Crewkerne, Somerset, 27 August 1614 and died before 1654 when she was 62.[7] They had 7 children: Josias, Mary Pinney, Martha, Elizabeth Gaylord, Cornelius, Joshua, & Naomi.[1]

The first record of George Hull in New England was March 4, 1632/3 when he was admitted as a freeman in Massachusetts Bay, which makes his arrival date, likely, the year 1632.[1]Although some suggest that he came to New England without his family,[3] the fact remains that their daughter Mary (or Marie) married Humphrey Pinney and moved with him and her parents to Windsor in 1636.[3,2] This indicates that Thamzen Hull and the children were in New England by 1636. They settled, along with Roger Clapp, Thomas Ford, Matthew Grand, Roger Ludlow and Humphrey Pinney, a strip of land in Massachusetts Bay Colony called Mattapan but later named Dorchester. [7]
