Mr. Calico was the son of the late John and Della Bryant Calico.

He was the husband of Norma B. Calico.

Mr. Calico was retired from the Bluegrass Army Depot, where he had worked as an engineering technician.

He was a member of the Berea Baptist Church in Berea, Kentucky where he served as a deacon and a Sunday School teacher. He was also a member of the Baraca Sunday School Class.

In addition, he served as president of the Berea Rotary Club and was a Paul Harris Fellow.
