MILITARY - Reviolutionary War soldier, served 84 months in North Carolina, dying in war. Tobias and Isiah Stedham both served 84 months in the Revolutionary War in North Carolina, and were both killed in the war. They lived in Polk Co., North Carolina (a part of Rutherford Co. at the time), and their land went to an heir, Capt. J.W. For military service in the Revolutionary War, Tobias Steadham was granted 640 acres on the south side of the Red River in (Davidson Co. ?) Tennessee. Assigned to: John Gray Blount. Entry #2817. Entry date (date of intent to claim land): 30 Sep 1785.
