About Tom Brady

A pro football quarterback praised by no less than Sports Illustrated magazine as the most gifted player in the NFL, New England Patriots mainstay Tom Brady made international headlines for his spectacular record on the field. A California native, Brady grew up in San Mateo as the son of Tom Brady, Sr. and Galynn Brady, and attended Serra High (a private, all-boys Catholic school) and the University of Michigan, playing football for the U of M Wolverines. Within a year of Brady's U of M graduation in 2000, the Patriots selected him in the sixth round of the NFL draft, pick 199. Tom racked up a long string of accomplishments on the field that included leading the Patriots to six Super Bowl victories, fourteen Pro Bowl selections, while netting four Super Bowl MVP awards, and three NFL MVP awards with the Patriots.

After the completion of the 2019 season, Tom hit free agency, for the first time in his career. At age 43, Tom signed with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, during the 2020 off-season, and led them to the Super Bowl, where they defeated the reigning champion Kansas City Chiefs. Tom would be named Super Bowl MVP of the game. This became Tom's seventh Super Championship victory and fifth Super Bowl MVP award. With this victory, the Buccaneers became the first team to play in a Super Bowl at their home stadium and the first team to win the Super Bowl at their home stadium. Tom also became the first Quarterback to win a Super Bowl in both Conferences (AFC and NFC) and the first player to win Super Bowl MVP with two different teams. He also became the oldest player to win the Super Bowl and the Super Bowl MVP award, at 43 years of age.

Cinematically, the majority of Brady's appearances have been football videos and documentaries depicting his football accomplishments; he also hosted a special episode of Saturday Night Live in 2005. He and actress Bridget Moynahan had a son in 2007 and in early 2009, Brady married Brazilian supermodel Gisele Bündchen. By the summer, Bündchen and Brady announced she was expecting. On December 8, 2009, Bündchen gave birth to the couple's first child together, a son named Benjamin Rein Brady.
