NIEUWENHUYZEN, Tom - With sadness we announce the passing away of our dear husband, father and grandfather, Tom Nieuwenhuyzen, at the age of 64 years, on Saturday, June 26, 2010. He is survived by Joan, his loving wife of 42 years. Father of Carla and Pete Bazen, Layn and Johanna Nieuwenhuyzen and Shari and Mark de Blieck, with seven grandchildren. He is also survived by his mother, Leuntje Nieuwenhuyzen and mother-in-law Ruth Fraser. Brother of Jacqueline and Bill Louws, Willy Nieuwenhuyen, Corry and Dave Bowley, Bill and Ineke Nieuwenhuyzen, John Nieuwenhuyzen, Joanne and Bas Groenenboom and Jim Nieuwenhuyzen, brother-in-law to Clare and Gladys Fraser. Predeceased by his father Leen Nieuwenhuyzen and father-in-law to Bruce Fraser. Special thanks to the staff at the St. Catharines General Hospital for their excellent care. The family will receive friends at the VINELAND CHAPEL of the TALLMAN FUNERAL HOMES, 3277 King St. on Monday 2-4 and 7-8:30 pm. The Netherlands Reformed Congregation, 1142 Lakeshore Road W., St. Catharines will conduct the Funeral Service on Tuesday, June 29th at 10 am. Interment will follow at Vineland Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations to the Canadian Cancer Society would be appreciated by the family.
