Morriston - Troy E. Burrell, Sr., 95, of Morriston, Florida, died Monday, August 11th at home under the loving care of his family and Haven Hospice. He was born July 16, 1913 in Combs, Arkansas, son of the late William Jasper and Lue (Moore) Burrell. Troy moved here in 1962 from Hialeah, FL. For many years he was a Superintendent for Power Line Construction until retiring in 1975; at which time he became a fulltime rancher at his Diamond B. Ranch. He was a member of Romeo Baptist Church and served as past trustee. He was a member of the National Cattleman's Association. He also was a member of the National and Florida Santa Gertrudis Association and was State Past President. His hobby was his horses and cattle. He was preceded in death by his daughter Neota Astling on November 14, 2007. He is survived by his beloved wife of 55 years, Mary H. "Molly" Burrell, Morriston; six sons: William Burrell, Summerfield; Alex Bolton, Morriston; George Bolton, Morriston; Howard Bolton, Santa Paula, CA; Robert Bolton, Ocala and Troy "Rusty" Burrell, Jr., Morriston; three daughters: Camille Young, Sebring; Diane Robbins, Morriston; and Barbara Bussard, Crystal River; 22 grand-children, including his close grand-son, Troy Brian Burrell, Morriston; 37 great-grandchildren and 12 great-great-grandchildren. The family will recieve friends on Thursday, August 14, 2008 from 9:30 a.m. until 10:00 a.m. at Romeo Baptist Church. The Funeral Service will be at 10:00 a.m. with Reverend Shawn Cutshall of Romeo Baptist Church officiating. Burial will follow from the Orange Hill Cemetery, Williston. Memorial Contributions in his memory may be given to Haven Hospice, 4200 N.W. Blvd., Gainsville, FL 32606. Arrangements under the care of ROBERTS FUNERAL HOME OF DUNNELLON, still family owned.
