Truman Ray Lee

Truman R. Lee of Holland, MI passed away peacefully and unexpectedly on Friday, July 25, 2014 at Holland Hospital.

Truman was born on February 26, 1926 in Sacramento, Kentucky. He was the youngest of 10 siblings. He passed up a basketball scholarship to stay home on the farm but continued to play with amateur groups, along with his love for softball, golf, bowling, boating, fishing, hunting and horseshoes. He was competitive and good at it all.

Truman was an industrial supervisor on auto details in metal finishing upon arriving in Michigan from Kentucky in 1950. He was a WW II veteran and a life member of the VFW, DAV, Elks Club and American Legion. He was a very humble and appreciative man with a heart of gold and a disposition like no other.

Truman was preceded in death by his son, David Lee (2000), wife, Artie Eaton Lee (2010) and is survived by his daughters, Beverly Lee Rigterink and Barbara Lee Teerman (Jeff); 2 grandsons, Jason Rigterink, Austin Teerman; 2 granddaughters, Leda Rigterink Vander Laan, Jordan Teerman; 2 great granddaughters, 2 great grandsons and many, many nieces and nephews - and all who will miss him dearly!

Visitation to celebrate the life of Truman R. Lee will be held at Langeland-Sterenberg Funderal Home on Thursday, July 31, 2014 from 2:00 pm – 3:30 pm with a memorial service following at 4:00 pm. You may also send donations to the American Heart Association in lieu of flowers.
