About UNKNOWN Clement
Jeremiah Clements had no male heirs. He cannot be the father of John Clements, Sr.
Do not merge this record with that of Jeremiah Clement(s).
Jeremiah Clements claimed John Clements as a headright in 1635, which has caused some confusion among researchers. John may have been a relative of Jeremiah, but he was not Jeremiah's son.
Jeremiah Clements died by 1653 and his ONLY HEIR was his daughter Elizabeth Perry, whose husband sold all of Jeremiah's land holdings by 1663. Jeremiah had no male heirs, and no sons to pass on the Clements name through his line. Jeremiah was the only heir of Geoffrey Clement's widow Elizabeth, meaning that he was the only son to have survived the early years in VA.
