SHADRACK HALL SLOAN, b. Abt. 1786; d. August 15, 1875, Floyd Co., Ky.; m. KATHARINE REYNOLDS, September 27, 1804, Patrick Co., Va. In 1796, Overseers of the poor bound him out to David Morgan. He took his mother's new husband's last name.

MARY ALICE SIZEMORE was born c.1750 in Virginia and died in 1851 in Prestonsburg, Floyd Co., Kentucky She was the daughter of George Edward Sizemore and wife Elizabeth Jackson She had many partners in her life, but may not have married each of them. According to family records of Frank Mitchell, of the men she had children with; William Slone was the only one she was actually married to. Her earlier children (Shadrack HALL, Isaac STEPHENS & Isham ADKINS) all took the surname SLOAN/SLONE after her marriage to William Slone. Her known partners were

1. - Stephens - they were not married. He was born in Stokes, North Carolina.
2. - Hall
3. -Adkins - they were not married. He was born in Surry County, North Carolina.
4. William Slone, born about 1750 in Stokes, North Carolina and died in Floyd County, Kentucky. They were married c.1796, the only relationship with proof of marriage. His name will be found both as Slone and Sloan. While most modern descendants spell it Slone, Sloan is acceptable in the early generations. He had twelve grandchildren and half spelled it each way.
