(2) William LEIGH, the husband of Mary DAWKES, is considered a "qualifying ancestor" for purposes of membership in the Jamestowne Society. The Jamestowne Society has rejected at least one membership application of a descendant of William LEA, the husband of Catherine IRONMONGER.

Therefore, the compiler believes that there is no proof that Capt. William Leigh, of Jamestown [of Jamestown] was an ancestor of William LEA.
