Uriah K. Arnold, 66 years old, of the firm of Boyd & Arnold, representing the Hamburg-Bremen Insurance Company, died yesterday morning from an attack of heart disease, at the residence of his sister, Mrs. Linda Frank, widow of Emil Frank, 361 eleventh street. Six months ago Mr. Arnold was seized with an attack of heart trouble, and about a week ago he was stricken with his last illness. Mr. Arnold was one of the first insurance men to settle in Portland, and he was respected over a wide section of this country for his upright business dealings. He was born in Philadelphia, Pa., and at an early age he went to San Francisco, locating in this city in 1884. Since that date he has made this city his home, and he soon laid the foundation for a lucrative business. He left three sisters -- Mrs. Linda Frank and Mrs. C. A. Fechheimer, both of this city, and Mrs. Moses Greenbaum of San Francisco. Mr. Arnold, who was unmarried, was a Mason, being a member of Columbia Lodge, No. 91, of Philadelphia. The funeral, which will be under the auspices of the masons, will take place at 2 o'clock this afternoon from Mrs. Frank's home, and the interment will be at the Masonic cemetery.
