The 1820 and 1830 Ohio census would indicate he was born approximately around 1775. He may have served in the War of 1812.

Springer Cemetery is his family's cemetery.

He was a Justice of the Peace, as several of his descendants also were. He moved from Virginia to Ohio, and then to Illinois. There are a number of tax assessment records in Ohio for Uriah Springer as late as 1836.
Records and news articles state he came to Livingston County sometime in 1836, being among the first setters here.

Letters of Administration were first issued on June 16, 1848 in Livingston County for Uriah Springer's death. Joseph Springer and Andrew S. McMillan, administrators.
