Vaike Kiin

Vaike Kiin sünd, 1927 Harku vallas, Kadaka külas. Lahkunud kodumaalt koos emaga 1944.a. ja elanud Ambergi DP laagris (Pond Barracks) kuni 1949. Elukutselt lasteaednik. Töötanud Ambergi lasteaia õpetajana ja hiljem juhatajana. Emigreerunud 6.6.1949 Austraaliasse ja elanud Wollongong-Corrimalis kuni 1962.a. Wollongongi Eesti Seltsi sekretär ja Wollongongi Eesti Kooli juhataja. Asunud USA-sse ja Lakewoodi koos abikaasa ja poja Matiga. Tegutsenud Lakewoodi Eesti Kooli õpetajana ja hiljem juhatajana. 2003 VAIKE KIIN of LAKEWOOD, died Sunday, Feb. . 2, at home. She was a bookkeeper at Mannik Mason, Lakewood, for 40 years. Mrs. Kiin was born and educated in Estonia and has been working with Estonian children since 1948. She was a kindergarten teacher in Germany, then spent 13 years in Australia before coming here . She was a 'member and president of the Wollongong Estonian Association in Australia prior to leaving. In Lakewood, she was a member of the Estonian Lutheran Church and a member and president for 29 years of the Lakewood Estonian Association. Born in Tallinn, Estonia, she left Estonia when she was 16 and went to Australia. She came to the United States in 1962. She was predeceased by her husband, Leo Kiin. Surviving are a son, Mati Kiin of West Stockbridge, Mass.; a granddaughter, Leilan; and two grandsons, Eitan and Juri. A funeral service will be held ,-.11 a.m. today at Holy Ghost Estonian Lutheran Church, Lakewood.
