Velma S. Carter
Velma Seay Carter, 89, of Stafford County passed away Saturday, Sept. 8, 2012, at Woodmont Center.
Mrs. Carter was a member of Bethel Baptist Church and the Lee Fidelis Sunday school class. She had worked as a seamstress for many years at Morganstern Pants Factory. Mrs. Carter was the widow of Ashby S. Carter.
Survivors include her sons, Phillip Carter and wife Jeannie and Gordon Carter and wife Linda, and daughter Elaine Carter, all of Stafford County; grandchildren Phillip Michael Carter, John Thomas Carter, Kristy Carter Llaneza and Matthew Edwin Carter; and seven great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 11, at Covenant Funeral Service, Fredericksburg.
A funeral will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 12, at the funeral home chapel with the Rev. Jim Davidson officiating. Interment will follow in Oak Hill Cemetery.
