About Velma Ernestine Weir
Velma and her husband Stan lived in Haileybury, Ontario. They had no children.
Although it was "not discussed" in those days, I believe that her death was the result of cancer. She spent her terminal illness in a hospital in Toronto. While she was in hospital, in 1956, Uncle Stan brought Suzanne Hughes and myself (Ruth O'Donnell) to visit her. They both expressed great appreciation for the opportunity to spend some time with "the young people".
