Verda Delight Amstutz

Verda D. Zuercher, 89, of Orrville, died Sunday, December 28, 2003 at her home following a period of declining health.

She was born near Kidron on July 4, 1914 to the late Peter J. and Barbara (Schneck) Amstutz and had lived all of her life in the Kidron area. She was a charter member of the Kidron Mennonite Church.

On August 25, 1935 she married Ivan J. Zuercher. He died September 3, 1990.

She is survived by 3 children and their spouses, Linda & Don Sommer of Apple Creek, Paul & Gail Zuercher of Denver, CO, and Carol & Fred Brubaker of Orrville; 2 granddaughters, 4 step-grandchildren, 2 great grandchildren and 4 step-great grandchildren; a sister Frieda (George) Amstutz of Walnut Creek. In addition to her husband she was preceded in death by 4 sisters, Fairy Gerber, Nettie Nussbaum, Celia Amstutz, and Persis Nussbaum; and 3 brothers, Paul, Ira, and H. Clair Amstutz.

Memorial services will be held on Wednesday at 11:00 AM at the Kidron Mennonite Church with the Rev. Herman Myers officiating. Graveside services will be in the church cemetery at 10:00 am on Wednesday prior to the memorial service. There will be no calling hours.
