PHEARS, Vernetta
FORT HALL, IDAHO: Vernetta "Eunie" Broncho Phears, 78, died May 8, 2010. She was born August 2, 1931 to Alfred Broncho and Lizzie Marie Martin Broncho. She was a retired cook and seamstress, and was a member of the Baptist and Native American Church. She enjoyed beadwork, sewing, gardening, crocheting, and attending pow wows and sun dances. She is survived by her children, S. Dexter (Susan) Denny, Lea Denny and Lorie Denny, all of Fort Hall; a brother, Lyle Broncho of Fort Hall; two sisters, Leona (Clifford) Houtz, and Delphina Martinez, all of Fort Hall; 5 grandchildren; and 7 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Joe Phears; brothers, Sylvester Jim and Albert Broncho; two sisters, Elaine Rosalez and Alberta Broncho; and her parents. Services were held at Mountain View Baptist Church. Interment of cremains was at Gibson Cemetery with arrangements by Hawker Funeral Home.
