Veronica 'Vera' Bryan Blackmore, formerly of Telford, passed away Friday, June 8, 2012, at THE FOUNTAINS, Tucson, Ariz., where she had resided since 2009.

She was preceded in death by her loving husband, James Francis Blackmore, who died in 1988. She married her sweetheart on June 30, 1945, after he returned from serving with the U. S. Army in the Aleutian Islands. Jim and Vera loved to travel, and spent a number of happy years exploring the country in their motor home.

Born July 7, 1919, in Philadelphia, she was the daughter of the late Floyd and Veronica (Delaney) Bryan.

A 1937 graduate of Hallahan Catholic Girls' High School, she worked as an executive secretary for many years in offices in Philadelphia, New York and New Jersey. In later years, she enjoyed making and selling a wide variety of crafts.

Vera was a devoted parishioner for 20 years of St. Agnes Catholic Church, Sellersville, where she was a faithful member of the quilting group.

She is survived by her four children, Marilou Henry (Marty), of Newport News, Va., Susan Stanga (Burt), of Tucson, Ariz., Jim Blackmore (Linda), of Hammonton, N.J., and Kevin Blackmore (Shannon), of Greenville, S.C.; eleven grandsons, Kevin Henry (Jeannie), Brian Stanga (Sarah), Bobby Stanga (Karen), Jason Blackmore (Kari), Michael Blackmore, Sean Stanga, Chris Blackmore (Kristin), Peter Henry, Ryan Blackmore (Kaitlin), Stephen Blackmore, and Matthew Blackmore; and six great-granddaughters, Lauren, Avery, Annemarie, Ella, Kaleigh, and Arianna. In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Floyd.

Our mother and Grammy will be remembered for her strong Catholic faith (her grandsons always knew they could call Grammy for prayers), her dedication to her family, her love of nature and her seashore, her passion for reading, and her intense enthusiasm for life.

The family wishes to thank the staff at THE FOUNTAINS in Tucson for their wonderful care of their mother and Grammy. Many very loving and dedicated caregivers and staff members made sure she was happy and enjoying various fun activities in these final years of her life. They said that Vera was always ready to go and join whatever was going on!!

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Friday, June 15, in St. Agnes Catholic Church, 445 N. Main Street, Sellersville, where family and friends may call from 9:15 a.m. until the time of the Mass. Interment will follow in Holy Sepulchre Cemetery, Philadelphia. Bernard Suess Funeral Home,
