Very Rev. William Robert Fremantle

Very Rev. William Robert Fremantle was born on 30 August 1807. He was the son of Vice-Admiral Sir Thomas Francis Fremantle and Elizabeth Wynne. He married, firstly, Emily Caroline Calvert, daughter of General Sir Harry Calvert, 1st Bt. and Caroline Hammersley, on 4 November 1835. He married, secondly, Caroline Leslie-Melville, daughter of Hon. Alexander Leslie-Melville and Charlotte Smith, on 9 October 1879.1 He died on 8 March 1895 at age 87, without issue.

    He held the office of Dean of Ripon between 1876 and 1895.1 He graduated with a Doctor of Divinity (D.D.).
