Vesta E. Miller

MOUNT HOPE -- Vesta E. (Troyer) Miller, 86, of 8050 State Route 241, Mount Hope, passed away on Wednesday, June 8, 2016, at her home after a period of declining health.

She was born April 14, 1930, in Holmes County to the late Eli E. and Abbie (Miller) Troyer, and married Raymond D. Miller on Sept. 30, 1954. He died Jan. 23, 2012.

She was a homemaker and a member of the Old Order Amish Church.

Surviving are children, Edward (Linda) Miller of Fredericksburg, Verna (Allen) Mullet of Sugarcreek, Abigail (Alvin) Mast of Mount Hope, Elsie (Mose) Troyer and Freda (Fred) Raber, both of Millersburg; 19 grandchildren and 29 great-grandchildren; her special cleaning girl, Naomi Keim; and sisters, Marie Troyer, Katie Troyer, Sarah (Henry) Miller and Niva (Raymond) Miller.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents; a great-grandson; and a brother and sister-in-law, Floyd and Mary Troyer.

Services will be Friday, June 10 at 9 a.m. at the Marty Yoder residence, 8000 State Route 241, Mount Hope, with Bishop Daniel Shetler officiating. Burial will be in Yoder Cemetery, Salt Creek Township, Holmes County. Friends may call anytime at the residence. Arrangements are being handled by Smith-Varns Funeral Home, Sugarcreek.
